The Football World Cup has started in Brazil – the England team lost against Italy and France won against Honduras. As the first round matches take place, why not get into the spirit of this huge event. Even if you’re not much of a fan of football  we have a great Brazilian recipe for you to try out.

This is a traditional recipe from the north eastern part of Brazil. Vatapá is a fish stew recipe that uses dry shrimp, bread and nuts. It’s thick with a zingy taste from lime juice and chilli.

What you will need to make Brazilian Vatapá

  • Dried shrimps
  • An onion
  • 2 cloves of garilc
  • 1 red chilli
  • Palm oil
  • Stale bread
  • Roasted peanuts
  • Cashew Nuts
  • Coconut milk
