Nadiya Hussain’s Genius Idea For No Fuss Samosas

Nadiya Hussain, winner of 2015 The Great British Bake Off, has come up with a genius idea for samosas. Instead of buying or labouring over pastry, she uses tortillas! She fills them with left overs and seals them up by brushing the edges with beaten egg.

With traditional samosas, you fry them in oil and hope they don’t break apart. To avoid that, Nadiya brushes on a little oil and then bakes them in the oven. I’m not sure if they still qualify as being samosas (closer to¬†Mexican quesadillas perhaps?) but still a great idea. Perfect for packed lunches or a midday meal with salad.


Since winning the Great British Bake Off, Nadiya has gone on to write recipe books – some of which contain stories for children. She has also appeared in her own TV programs for the BBC.
