Next week sees the return of Mary Berry to our screens with her new series ‘Mary Berry Cooks’. A little synopsis on her new series…

Now, as Bake Off graduates to BBC1, she is presenting her own BBC2 series, Mary Berry Cooks, a gastronomic journey through the best of our home-grown fare, which will take her the length and breadth of Britain, sampling everything from Cornish tea to Yorkshire puddings. The focus will be on home cooking, the area in which Mary, who was made a CBE in 2012, excels.

therefore thought I would share a recipe I’ve found from the wonderful Mary Berry which is one of her favourites – Pasta Primavera. Full of colour and flavour this dish makes a really filling supper. Mary’s new series starts on Monday 3rd March at 8.30pm on BBC2.

Ingredients you will need:

pasta primavera

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions, peeled, halved and sliced thickly
  • 2 red peppers, seeded and cut in large pieces
  • 350g (12oz) small courgettes, thickly sliced
  • 350g (12oz) tagliatelle
  • 225g (8oz) broccoli florets
  • 225g (8oz) asparagus tips
  • 3-4 tablespoons pesto, according to taste
  • 200ml crème fraiche
  • 50g (2oz) freshly grated Parmesan
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
