In To Noodle Recipes? Then You’ll Love Beef & Broccoli!

noodle recipes

It seems I’ve become hooked on chinese noodle recipes. I love the fact that you can have a lovely bowl of spicy noodles with or without meat in no time at all. One ingredient I’m really into is broccoli, just seems to go well with whatever else you use, like pork or fish. Even without meat, broccoli goes great with sliced carrot and mushrooms.

I must admit I do like my spices and I’m a huge fan of chilli, ginger and garlic. That combination forms the basis for many great noodle recipes, like this fab one from Ching He Huang. If you’re in the UK and like Chinese food then you might be aware of who she is. If not, then her bio on her website should clue you in.

I originally came across her recipe for ‘Beef & Broccoli Oyster Sauce Chow Mein‘ on Facebook. It was posted as a video and it shows just how simple it is to make…

I’ve been making versions of this for sometime now, I just love the flavours, the heat and the simplicity of it.

Here’s the list of ingredients that you’re going to need for this recipe.

  • Groundnut oil 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic 3 cloves, peeled and finely chopped
  • Ginger 1 knob, peeled and grated
  • Red cayenne chilli 1 fresh, sliced
  • Sirloin steak 1 free range or organic, excess fat trimmed off, slice into 1cm slices
  • Shaohsing rice wine 1 tablespoon dry sherry or
  • Tenderstem Broccoli 250g, sliced into 1 inch pieces on the angle
  • Dark soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Egg noodles 400g cooked
  • Bean sprouts 1 large handful
  • Low sodium light soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce 2 tablespoons

As with most noodle recipes, it’s all about preparation. So, ensure you check out full recipe – with easy instructions –  on Ching’s website.
