Why The Fuss Over Hasselback Potatoes? One Video And Three Great Recipes That Explain All!


Have you heard of the term ‘Hasselback’ before? I’m sure you’ve seen Hasselback potatoes mentioned by various posh foodie sites and magazines but do you know what that actually means and where the term comes from? And why are foodies so excited by them?

The original term ‘Hasselback’ comes from luxurious Hasselbacken hotel and restaurant in Stockholm. They were the first to come up with the idea, to roast a potato which is repeatedly sliced down the centre but not all the way through. That way it stays together while cooking.

If you wondering why there’s so much talk about them, it’s because of the magic that happens between the slices! That’s where you insert bacon, cheese or what ever takes your fancy!

When done right, a Hasselback potato can look amazing on a plate. They look so good they really should be the star item, not as a side dish to something else. You can vary the recipe from being an impressively good vegetarian dish to something a meat eater would be very happy to consume.
