Go Spanish And Try This Tapas Dish, Spicy Prawns With Garlic and Chilli

Tapas dish - Gambas al Ajillo

Have you ever been to Spain and spent time in a Tapas bar? I really like the idea of Tapas, small dishes of flavour that leave you wanting more. They are not meant to be too distracting – they can be eaten so that they form a meal but often as snacks while you enjoy someone’s company. That is why so many bars serve Tapas – you can eat, drink and be with friends and family.

However they are served, it is a test of a chef’s ability to pack texture and flavour into a really small dish. The Spanish do it and you can too…

On Manuela Zangara’s excellent blog, ‘Manu’s Menu’, you can find a lovely Tapas dish that uses prawns, Gambas Al Ajillo. It’s quick and easy and uses just a few ingredients, many of which you’re likely to have in your kitchen.

What you will need for Manuela’s Tapas Dish – Gambas Al Ajillo

  • 250 gms – 8.8 oz. prawns, cleaned and peeled
  • 150 ml – ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 1 chilli (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste

If you are planning a small party or get together then this recipe is perfect. Click to head over to Manu’s blog for more…
