Go Dipping This Christmas And Make A Fab Festive Chocolate Treat

festive chocolate treat

We all love a festive chocolate treat, no matter what time of day it is! However, I’ve decided not to share recipes where loads of chocolate is used (thinking of thick frosted cakes here) but instead, where it’s used to enhance the final product. Dipping things in Chocolate is a fine festive tradition and there are loads of great ideas out there to try.

By the way, I do know that you can dip anytime of the year but it just seems so much more appropriate to mention it now.

I’ve found five fab recipes and ideas from four very fine and talented food bloggers. Have a go at making yourself a chocolate treat today and don’t forget to leave a comment below! Love to hear which one is your favourite!

Candied Orange Peel dipped in Chocolate – Tin & Thyme

The inspiration for this candied orange peel confection came from Black Book Kitchen Diaries – I was sold the moment I saw the pictures. Not only did they make it onto my Christmas gift list (which is always rather hopeful but impractically long) but I actually managed to make them too.

White Chocolate and Chocolate Dipped Mandarin Oranges – Cooking Classy

Only a few days left until Christmas so here’s the perfect last minute treat for a party or gift! These White Chocolate and Chocolate Dipped Mandarin Oranges are of course so easy to make and you’ll only need to get two ingredients to make them (or three if you want sprinkles or sea salt). I’ve already made these three times in the last three weeks, my family absolutely loves these and I love that they are quick treat!

Chocolate Dipped Lebkuchen – Domestic Gothess

These chocolate dipped Lebkuchen are really easy to make, keep well and embody all the flavours of Christmas. Lebkuchen are a traditional German festive biscuit, similar to gingerbread but are softer and more cakey. They are made with honey, ground almonds and lots of spices and are topped with a sweet glaze as well as often being dipped in chocolate.

Chocolate Dipped Toffee Pecan Shortbread Cookies – Cooking Classy

I really have a thing for shortbread lately. My whole life I always thought it was pretty boring until recently I realized you just need to add a little something to it. Like these Chocolate Dipped Toffee Pecan Shortbread Cookies, I don’t know if shortbread gets any better! You just can’t go wrong with this combination. They are perfectly balanced with sweet, buttery, caramel-like, nutty flavors and they’ll leave you wanting more. Trust me I know. These things are hard to resist!

Chocolate-dipped Vanilla Bean Macaroon – Love & Lemons

These macaroons are more cookie-like than most macaroons. They’re made with (of course) lots of shredded coconut but they also have ground-up almonds, cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla, and coconut butter. These are pretty substantial cookies which make them a terrific afternoon snack.
