Chocolate Week: Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Sundae

chocolate peanut butter fudge sundaeWell hello everyone, welcome to Chocolate Week! We will bring you all sorts of recipes and ideas on how best to put this wonderful ingredient to good use. Obviously those who know me best will realise this is an ingredient which I could quite easily graze on until the end of time….but let’s begin our week with Nigella Lawson’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Sundae recipe. So don’t worry about calories today, just enjoy making this delicious looking dessert which I, for one, am salivating over as I think about it!

What you need to make your Sundae:

  • 175 ml double cream
  • 100g milk chocolate (chopped)
  • 100g smooth peanut butter
  • 45 ml Golden syrup
  • 4 scoops toffee ice cream (or caramel)
  • 4 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice-cream
  • 60 ml salted peanuts (roughly chopped or left whole to taste)

 How to make your Sundae:

  • Put all the cream, chopped chocolate, peanut butter and golden syrup into a saucepan and place on the heat to melt, stirring occasionally. In about 2 minutes you should have your sauce ready.
  • Get out four sundae glasses and put a scoop of toffee or caramel ice cream in each, followed by one of chocolate and then another of vanilla.
  • Pour some chocolate peanut butter fudge sauce over each sundae and sprinkle with the salted peanuts. Hand them round and wait for people to weep with gratitude.

And here’s Nigella to show you how it’s done:
